Painting description

Egg tempera on gesso ground prime wood panels.

Genuine gold leaf karati 23 ¾, burnished and chiselled.

The geometrical shape of the icon was made according to the Byzantine canon of Panovsky's three circles theory.

Special Pigments employed

Different shades of ochre, Titanium white, Black vine.
