Egg tempera on gesso ground prime wood panels.
Genuine gold leaf karati 23¾, burnished and chiselled.

Gold in shell, karati 23¾.

Calligraphy in Cinnabar.

The geometrical shape of the icon was carried out according to the Byzantine canon of Panovsky's three circles theory in planimetric projection.

Special Pigments employed

Different shades of Ochre, Titanium White, Black Vine, Alizarin Crimson, Chrome Yellow, Chrome Orange, Naples yellow dark, Cinnabar.
